Leading USPHL/EHF Organizations Plan to Combine Ownership of Rinks and Hockey Programs.

Foxboro, MA and Providence, RI:  The South Shore Kings and Providence Hockey Club are pleased to announce the combination of their hockey rinks and programs under a new combined joint ownership group.  The new ownership group will oversee operation of three company owned rink facilities – Foxboro Sports Center (Foxboro, MA), Rhode Island Sports Center (North Smithfield, RI) and Lynch Arena (Pawtucket, RI)  – representing five sheets of ice at the three different locations.  The new ownership group will also jointly manage all hockey related programs at these facilities.

The South Shore Kings and Providence Hockey Club will continue to operate as separate hockey programs.  There will be no consolidation of teams or change in team compositions as a result of the new combined ownership.  The Providence Hockey Club will also continue to skate out of Cranston Veterans Memorial Ice Rink (Cranston, RI) and Schneider Arena (Providence, RI).

The South Shore Kings have a rich and successful history of youth and junior hockey development with a long list of alumni currently playing in the NHL – including current Boston Bruins Charlie Coyle, Chris Wagner, Noel Acciari and Paul Carey as well as other NHL players Kevin Hayes, Jimmy Hayes, Noah Hanifin, Keith Yandle and Jimmy Vesey.  The Providence Hockey Club has enjoyed similar recent success with 28 alumni (both men and women) playing college hockey this past year and finishing the 2018/2019 season with a league leading 5 EHF championships.

We will continue to develop players and grow the game of hockey by offering several programs from Learn to Skate through Junior Hockey ("cradle to college” concept).
